ABOUT “STARS”:
Miho’s SECOND full length album, “STARS” is a reflection of the friendships and the people that Miho has worked with and met along the way of her journey into the idol world. This is a collection of songs that were all done by different composers and songwriters, including from the producers of idol groups like Kankaku Logic (“SING”) and Planet After the Rain (“DEAR MY STAR”). Ian Moore also returns to compose “STARS,” which also features vocal melodies made by KOSAME. In addition to this, KOSAME also appears on the “STARS” song herself, bringing her insane style of polyphonic singing to a Miho song.
Lyrically, the songs deal with love, hope, wonder, and loss. In fact, “DEAR MY STAR” has lyrics written by Miho that deal with Miho’s personal feelings about losing one of her biggest influences in life, HARA, from the K-POP band KARA. As on Miho’s first album, LIFE, the intense lyrics compliment an overall more mature approach to these songs, marking an intentional progression more into artist territory than idol territory. The result is a deep, well thought out collection of songs that reflect the genius songwriting of several songwriters that Miho has come to know, and whereas LIFE was a tribute album to Mho’s fans, often called her “SUNS,” this album is a tribute to those who work hard in the idol business and music business, the producers of such great music that holds the idol world together. These people are Miho’s “STARS.”
